This is the order of Battle for Mudki the first engagement of the Anglo Sikh War. It follows Ampal Singh Sidhu's recent scholarship. Units are scaled for Piquet Field of Battle(FOB), four stands of infantry or cavalry per unit and two stands for a cavalry wing or an artillery battery. The other info' is for FOB in 15mm. I prepared it for an upcoming game and thought it might be useful to others too.

The composition of the Sikh cavalry is actually unknown but the units given are a reasonable guess.
Excellent stuff. I acquired Featherstone's "At them with the bayonet" for a couple of quid in a lovely second hand bookshop in Holmfirth recently. Currently eyeing Ian Kay's website with a view to planning this lot.
ReplyDeleteThanks Trebian. Ian's stuff is pretty good. He should do more Sikh regular cavalry-just dragoons so far.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was writing the post above I realised Mudki is probably the smallest battle of the two wars. I might need more toys.
You need an excuse to buy more toys?
DeleteAlso he doesn't do a British officer in a Havelock cap, either.
No, the mildest hint will normally do the trick.
ReplyDeleteDixon have some nice officers figures in their Mutiny range. I have some of them and they fit nicely. Really though Ian should expand his range, a few more sculpts and he could supply everything needed.
Great info Sir!
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Ray. The thing is when I look at the rest of the battles the are huge. More toys required.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, looking at this period in 10mm with the new Pendraken range
