The Sikh Wars what's available in 15mm Part 1 - Sikh Irregular Infantry

I thought I should do a series of posts showing what was available in 15mm for the Anglo Sikh Wars and show how compatible the ranges are.  I'm starting with a look at the Sikh irregulars because it's an easy one to begin with.  When we get to the British there is huge variety.

Large numbers of Sikhs rallied to defend the Sikh State so let’s have a look at what’s available.  The Sikh style of dress was distinctive so we are only going to look at figures marketed as Sikhs.  You can of course find other figures to use not least because the Sikhs were a sizeable minority in the Punjab.

Black Hat produced 3 packs with variants in each pack and a command pack let’s have a look at them. Sikhs with swords, Sikhs firing and heavily armed Sikhs in that order.  The latter having both sword and shield and a musket.  The Black Hat figures are now sold by Fighting 15s so I've referred to them as Fighting 15s below.

Bare metal here.

Let's see them painted.

Irregular Miniatures produce Sikhs with sword and Sikhs with musket.  You buy these individually here they are.

A painted unit here.

Let’s see how these miniature warriors compare with each other.  First from the front. Irregular Miniatures first from the left then Fighting 15s followed by Irregular Miniatures and Fighting 15s again.

Now from the side. Irregular Miniatures first from the left followed by Fighting 15s then Irregular Miniatures and next Fighting 15s.

Good enough I think, and once again we have all the variety we could ask for.  I should add there are more variants not shown above but the size seems consistent with what you can see.
