Crimean War 15mm- A Few More

I have begun the mopping up, painting wise, for the Crimean War.  Above, all from Irregular, French gunners, guns and gabions.

The British Guards final battalion of three. This one from Irregular.

Poking about in the unpainted box I realised I could do another British Brigade.  So I did.

HM 88th, latterly the Connaught Rangers.  All Minifigs save the two Irregular standard bearers.

HM 68th Durham Light Infantry all from Irregular.

HM 97th The Earl of Ulster's all Irregular figures.

I had the opportunity to ask Barry Hilton about the release of his Crimean War rules.  He hopes to release them at some point in the future.

Next for the Crimean War I will finish painting the British and French artillery.  The Russian artillery are done so we might see them next.

Crimean War-British Cavalry 15mm

Finally, I have completed my British Cavalry for the Crimean War.   Above we have the 17th Lancers who got shot and shelled to pieces at Balaclava.  As the French fellow said "It's not War".  Yet, they did what was asked of them so let's see them again.

All Minifigs save for the officer in his cap.  he is a Gladiator figure and surely one of the most useful period figures to have,  He is one of a pack of two British Officers available from Fighting 15s.

The Hussars next.

These ones are from Irregular.  They have a fine campaign look.

The Light Dragoons, also from Irregular and the last of my Light Brigade. I'm not happy with the shako on these. Unsurprisingly, as it is in fact a Mirliton. I'm wondering if I can chop the Mirlitons into pill box caps.

For the moment they will be replaced by Minifigs.  Luckily, I have just the figures needed. Here they are, fresh from my Sikh Wars Collection. I gave their base a brown wash.

Here is the Light Brigade on the move.

Hussars here with Cardigan.

On to the Heavy Brigade.  Now, we have seen many pic's of these fellows before illustrating the Godman Letters.

For that reason I think these two pic's of General Scarlett leading the brigade should suffice.

That is the British Cavalry complete, at least for my collection.  Time for the British Artillery.  Including, should you have wondered, the RHA limbered and in action.
